As the Boom Dang Foundation has grown, and lots more beginner bands have been started up to meet the demand of many new young people wishing to join, an In-House Traineeship was created in order to train our band of young professionals in the skills of Leadership.

Our Traineeship is based on our own tried and successful work-based learning model.

Our Trainees, Apprentices and Music Leader are all paid to train.  We are committed to investing in our young people as Leaders as they are the ones at the Core of the organisation.

 

We run a Volunteer Programme, a Traineeship, an Apprenticeship and a Music Leader role.  Below is on outline of the roles:

Volunteer Programme – 6 months
For 15 – 18 years olds who are in Ting Tang and wish to eventually become Leaders.  The Volunteer Programme focuses on the basic skills needed to become a Trainee.  They will work alongside a mentor.

Traineeship – 12 months
For 18+ who have completed the Volunteer Programme.  The Traineeship focuses on more in-depth aspects of working as  a Practitioner.  They will work alongside a mentor.

Apprenticeship – 6 months
For 20+ who have completed the 12 month Traineeship.  Apprentices will prepare and lead sessions alongside a Practitioner.

Music Leader – ongoing
For 22+ and with a high level of experience of working with groups.  The Music Leader will continue to train with a Practitioner, however, will be able to run sessions.
